Representatives of CRIGH were present at the first Global Clinical Trial Forum, organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. The forum gathered stakeholders from all over the globe to put forward a joint vision for sustainable clinical research infrastructure and to strengthen clinical trial capabilities, in alignment with the World Health Assembly’s resolution 75.8:
"Strengthening clinical trials to provide high-quality evidence on health interventions and to improve research quality and coordination."
The forum was attended by over 130 experts from 43 countries, and many more joint the event online. CRIGH participated in the forum representing its clinical trial network and achievements. Throughout the summit, experiences and lessons learned were exchanged among various disciplines and health condition areas. The forum participants called for clinical trial infrastructure, including among others domestic funding, national support for clinical trial infrastructure, improving coordination and streamlining of regulatory and ethics review and approval processes, enhancing patient engagement, and enabling clinical trials with digital and information technologies.
