CRIGH Kickoff Meeting

October 12-13, 2016
Paris

The kickoff meeting for the Clinical Research Initiative for Global Health (CRIGH) will be held from 12 to 13 October in Paris, France. CRIGH is a follow-up to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Global Science Forum (GSF) initiative, which was introduced in 2008 to foster international cooperation in non-commercial trials.

CRIGH’s mission is to serve as a support structure for international collaboration on clinical research for the benefit of patients, healthcare professionals, and health systems. The initiative will seek to optimize clinical research programs in participating countries, to develop global standards on clinical research, and to promote the take-up of innovative methodology and technologies.

The meeting will bring together around 60 participants from health institutions around the globe. Presentations will be made on the OECD recommendation on the governance of clinical trials and international cooperation on clinical trials. The six CRIGH projects will be presented and breakout sessions will be held on each topic:

  • Infrastructure and funding
  • Global core competencies
  • Research ethics
  • Patient involvement
  • Comparative effectiveness research
  • Regulatory awareness

The consortium agreement will be signed at the conclusion of the meeting.
